Today, December 1, 2019, MONDIALAB PRO joins millions around the world in recognizing World AIDS Day. Beginning in 1988, World AIDS Day became a way to raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic.
The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is “Communities make the difference”. The commemoration of World AIDS Day is a significatnt opportunity to recognize the essential role that communities across the world have played and continue to play in the AIDS response at the international, national and local levels.
Communities contribute to the AIDS pandemic in several different ways. Their advocacy and leadership ensures that the AIDS response remains relevant and well-balanced, keeping people at the center and leaving no one behind. Communities include peer educators, networks of people living with or affected by HIV, such as gay men and other men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs and sex workers, women and young people, counsellors, community health workers, door-to-door service providers, civil society organizations grass-roots activists and digital health technologies, such as the MONDIALAB PRO platform. It is our mission at MONDIALAB to support not only communities and the individuals within, but governments and institutions to quickly and remotely screen AIDS (HIV) through rapid LFIA diagnostics (instant test results), digital command and control health, business intelligence and portability to assist in the fight against AIDS.
